Create A Sustainable Administrative Infrastructure

In order to maintain the city’s commendable progress, a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness should be instilled throughout city government.

To that end, it is important to adopt legislation that will make sustainability a part of the city’s general operational structure.

We encourage the City Council to:

  • Ensure appropriate oversight of the Mayor’s Office’s requirement to report performance on specific sustainability indicators.
  • Continue the city’s progress on creating a local Brownfield Remediation Program that will clean up dangerously damaged properties and promote new development by passing legislation codifying the recently created Office of Environmental Remediation.
