Focusing on smart growth, energy conservation and climate action, the nine steps in the Brookhaven Action Plan are within the town's legal purview. Each step is achievable in the next several months and collectively, the plan will set the stage for greater sustainability progress over the long term.

"The Town of Brookhaven has long been known for its proactive approach to sustainability," said Marcia Bystryn, president of NYLCVEF. "By fully implementing this Action Plan in the coming months, town leaders can continue that tradition and make Brookhaven a leader in sustainable development."
