        Welcome to our club; we hope you enjoy your visit. The AMC is the oldest, and one of the largest, Conservation and Outdoor Recreation organizations in the US. We have a LOT of stuff going on in the New York and Northern New Jersey area.
Whatever your outdoor interests are, we have something for you. Try one of the links below to start your tour. The Site Map, on this and many other pages, is also a good place to start.         The New York-North Jersey Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (also known as the AMC) hosts over 2000 outdoor recreation activities per year. Originally the New York Chapter, our 13,000-plus members hail from New York City, southeastern New York, and northeastern New Jersey, and receive the newsletter Trails and Waves. Whatever your outdoor interests are, we have something for you. You can view our Activity Schedules online.
With over 13,000 members, the New York-North Jersey Chapter is the second largest of the 12 regional chapters of the Appalachian Mountain Club (also known as the AMC). The NY-NoJ Chapter offers its members more than 20 outdoor events on most weekends, many for beginners. We know that you would enjoy some of them, and we'd like you to come along. We invite you to join us on our activities and to help us conserve and preserve those outdoor resources that we all enjoy.

Membership includes AMC Outdoors Magazine         The AMC offers a discount Membership for first time members. Also, when you join the New York-North Jersey Chapter you will be sent the current Chapter Activity Schedule by first-class mail.

        AMC's Membership may be ordered as a membership for yourself, or as a gift for a person that you identify on the application.
