This statewide organization works on consumer, health care, economic and environmental policies.  The national group usually publishes a report on toxic emissions on a state-by-state basis.  They offer ongoing and electoral information and assistance.

CCE works to build widespread citizen understanding and advocacy for policies and actions designed to manage and protect interdependent land and water resources, wildlife and public health. CEC is a statewide organization of over 14,000 individual members and 110 community, environmental and labor groups working on pollution problems in New York State.  CEC provides citizen assistance and information on the environmental, health, governmental and organizing aspects of toxic, radioactive, and solid waste problems, including referrals to experts and groups.  On a statewide level, CEC advocates policy reforms to prevent and address pollution.

NYPIRG lobbies on environmental and consumer issues and produces reports on the state’s solid and toxic waste problems.  NYPIRG’s Toxic Project provides information and assistance on solid and hazardous waste issues, including incineration and toxic chemical releases.  The Long Island office has informative reports on Long Island’s garbage, toxic emission and storm water problems.
