David J Miller

  • Currently serves as Director of Strategic Initiatives at Ecology and Environment in Lancaster, NY. There he leads the development of new strategic initiatives for company growth and success, and analyzes, advises, develops and assists in the areas of new projects and sustainability
  • Previously the Chief of Staff to NYS Education Commissioner Richard Mills and Deputy Commissioner for Innovation responsible for the Office of Government Relations, the Office of the Board of Regents, Office of Organizational Effectiveness and the Communications Office
  • Served in the conservation movement for 25 years with 18 plus of those years at the National Audubon Society, first as Northeast Regional Vice President (1988-1996) and then as Executive Director of Audubon New York (1996-2007). Grew organization and led campaigns for Long Island Sound, bird conservation and environmental education.
  • Recent awards include the Sound Guardian Award (Clean Water/Jobs Coalition) (2008), St. Lawrence University Distinguished Alumni Citation Honoree (2007), National Audubon Society Charles H. Callison Award (2006), Town of Clifton Park - Presented “Key to Community” Service Award (2006), New York League of Conservation Voters Environment/Long Island Sound Award (2005)
  • Received his B.A. in Environmental Studies and Economics at St. Lawrence University and is married to Christine Frances Miller. Together they have four children, Andrea, Charles, Brendan and Christopher. They are avid sports enthusiasts enjoying outdoor recreational activities during all four seasons
